Led by David Kravish’s 19 points and 15 rebounds, California beat the Arkansas men’s basketball team 85-77 in the opening game of the Maui Invitational on Monday.
The Razorbacks seemed off balance from the start, possibly due to the absence of Anthlon Bell and Michael Qualls in the starting lineup. Anderson said the two were late to a meeting after the team arrived in Maui. Rickey Scott and Mardracus Wade took their places on the starting roster alongside Coty Clarke, Fred Gulley and Bobby Portis.
The Hogs started 1-8 in shots from the field and led only twice during the game.
The starters combined for 13 points with no baskets beyond the arc. Bell and Qualls together scored 37 points, including 8 from 3-point range.
Arkansas will play Minnesota on Tuesday at 1 p.m. Central on ESPN2 (see full bracket schedule).
