Fayetteville residents can expect trash and recycling collections to be delayed by one day Wednesday and Thursday because of the New Year’s Day holiday.

Wednesday (Jan. 1) pick-ups will run Thursday, and Thursday (Jan. 2) pick-ups will run Friday, according to a city news release.

Recycling centers

The city’s transfer station and the Marion Orton Recycling Drop-Off Center at 735 W. North Street, will be closed to the public on Wednesday.

Christmas tree pick-up

City workers will collect Christmas trees free of charge through Jan. 16.

Residents should place Christmas trees next to their trash carts on their regular collection day, or take them to the Fayetteville Compost Facility, 1708 S. Armstrong Ave.
