Coming here: Pallbearer, Jan. 18 at The Lightbulb Club

Pallbearer

One of the best metal bands in the world is coming back to town this month. As it happens, that band is also from Arkansas.

Little Rock-based Pallbearer will return to Fayetteville for a show at The Lightbulb Club on Saturday, Jan. 18 with locals Thunderlizards and Terminus.

Pallbearer has been making Arkansas proud ever since a three-song demo they recorded surfaced in 2010. Since their 2012 release Sorrow and Extinction was released, however, they’ve completely blown up.

Pitchfork gave the record an 8.4, called it “a triumph,” and ranked it as the best metal album of the year in 2012. The album was No. 2 on Spin’s Best Metal albums of 2012 list. Entertainment Weekly ranked it No. 5 on their list.

The band is set to return to the studio in February to record their highly anticipated second album with prolific producer/engineer Billy Anderson (Jawbreaker, Eyehategod, Red House Painters).

But not before they freak some Fayetteville people out with their awesomeness on Jan. 18.

Tickets are $8, on sale now at The Lightbulb Club.
