Gg Earth

Former Grateful Dead organist Melvin Seals will be back in Fayetteville, performing with Chicago-based jam band, Terrapin Flyer at George’s Majestic Lounge. Locals Groovement are also on the bill. Tickets are on sale here.

Shreveport, LA. psychedelic band, band Gg Earth (listen below) will be at The Lightbulb Club Friday night. A good new(ish) local band, Llinda, will also perform. Admission is $5.

Ryleigh’s has been hosting live music again recently, and there’s a show Friday night with local rockers Friday, Maybe Saturday and Animal Noise. It’s a free show, too.

Saturday events, Jan. 18

Pallbearer

On Saturday morning, Mayor Lioneld Jordan will endorse Compassion Fayetteville and the Charter for Compassion at a public celebration scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Fayetteville Public Library. Jordan will also announce February as a “Month of Compassion.”

Music wise, excellent Austin-based musician Abram Shook is at Smoke & Barrel Saturday night. If you’re not familiar, listen to a track below.

Little Rock-based doom metal band Pallbearer (listen below) will return to Fayetteville for a show at The Lightbulb Club on Saturday, Jan. 18 with locals Thunderlizards and Terminus. Tickets are $8 at the door.

An entirely different kind of metal show is at George’s Saturday night. Local 80s hair metal tribute band, Hot Lix (who we’ve heard are incredible) will perform in the garden. Tickets are $10.
