UA ceramics students to host bowl sale Thursday at Little Bread Co.

Plates are great. Saucers are okay. But for certain dishes, only a bowl will do.

The ceramics students from the University of Arkansas Department of Art realize this, and they’ll be providing their locally-crafted vessels for lovers of soup, cereal, ice cream, and other less-than-viscous foods best served in a dish with higher sidewalls at the semi-annual Soup and Bowl Sale on Thursday, Feb. 20 at Little Bread Co.

The event is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the Association of Ceramics Enthusiasts, a student-run organization from the UA that will be selling bowls filled with homemade Little Bread Co. soup for $15 each at the event.

Other ceramics items will also be available for purchase, and an original work by visiting artist and renowned sculptor Kensuke Yamada will be raffled off at the end of the evening. Raffle tickets will be sold for $1 each, or 6 for $5.
