Construction is still underway at the new location for the Arkansas Music Pavilion, but the summer lineup for the venue is already beginning to take shape.

The latest artist to announce plans to play the new amphitheater is legendary funny man and banjo phenom Steve Martin, and his band The Steep Canyon Rangers.

The band on Monday announced a 29-date tour that will bring them to the AMP on Sunday, Aug. 3.

Joining Martin on the tour is singer/songwriter and frequent collaborator, Edie Brickell. Martin and Brickell’s 2013 album Love Has Come for You was nominated for a Grammy award this year, and their song of the same title won a Grammy for Best Americana song.

The show marks the third announced so far at the AMP’s new location now under construction 20 miles north of Fayetteville off Interstate 540 across from the Pinnacle Hills Promenade. Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss and Jason Isbell will perform at the venue on July 7, and country music star Jake Owen will perform on Sept. 11.

No ticket information has been announced, but we’ll try to remember to add it here once it becomes available.
