They’ve performed at the World Cup. They’ve played the Oscars. They’ve won Grammy awards.
They’re the Soweto Gospel Choir, and they’re coming to Fayetteville next week.
The 24-member group from South Africa has been gaining notoriety worldwide for their incredible music and inspiring performances since forming in 2002.
Their debut album Voices of Heaven reached the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s World Music Chart within three weeks of its U.S. release.
Their song “Baba Yetu” won a Grammy, and their rendition of “Down to Earth” from the film Wall-E won an Oscar for Best Original Song in 2009.
They’re kind of a big deal.
The world-renowned choir will perform at Walton Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6, and we’ve got a pair of tickets to give away to that performance.
