Fayetteville Farmers’ Market gets early start in 2014 with indoor market events

The Fayetteville Farmers’ Market doesn’t open until April, but residents who are ready for a local food fix can get one starting this month.

Market vendors, in association with Ozark Slow Food, will kick off the first of three planned March Markets at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (224 N. East Ave.) on Saturday, March 1.

The March Markets will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and will include a variety of local foods including beef, lamb, pork, chicken, eggs, and some “hoop house” winter produce from about a dozen regular Fayetteville Farmers’ Market vendors.

Future indoor markets at St. Paul’s are planned on March 15 and 29, and opening day for the market’s 2014 outdoor season on the square is set for Saturday, April 5.
