Ah, springtime. The weather is getting warmer, a few flowers are starting to peek out of the ground, and one of Fayetteville’s favorite warm weather attractions is set to kick off in a few weeks.

First Thursday Fayetteville, the monthly art walk and outdoor festival on the downtown square, is set to return on Thursday, April 3.

Some changes are planned for this year, including moving the beer garden to the patio behind the Old Post Office building where local beer fans can expect to find breweries from the Fayetteville Ale Trail featured each month.

Also new this year are expanded hours to 9 p.m., and a larger kids zone on East Avenue.

Music headliners for 2014 include blues sensation Samantha Fish (in conjunction with the Blues in the Natural State Festival), Latin-flavored Calle Soul, local rockers Guta, supergroup Isayah’s Allstars, the ever funky 1 Oz. Jig, party band Got it Covered, and folk trio 3 Penny Acre.

The KidsStage, featuring family-friendly activity on the main stage, includes headliners Papa Rap, Magician Scott Davis, Doo-Dads, Shannon Wurst, Shaky Bugs Band and Stone Lion Puppet Theatre.

All of this is on top of the regular outdoor art walk that regularly includes over 40 local artists, street performers, food trucks, and other activities.

First Thursday events are scheduled on April 3, May 1, June 5, July 3, Aug. 7, Sept. 4, and Oct. 2.
