The Butterfield Trail Elementary archery team will host a taco bar fundraising event this week to raise money for the team’s upcoming trip to the National Archery in the Schools Program national tournament.

The fundraiser is set for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 16 at 324 Ballroom, located behind Jose’s Mexican Restaurant at 324 W. Dickson Street.

The team placed second in the state tournament last month to earn a spot in the 2014 nationals, set for May 5-10 in Louisville, Kentucky.

Tickets to the event are $10 at the door, and all funds go toward travel expenses for the trip.

Anyone wishing to donate should contact Coach Jeremy Mabry at 479-466-7439 or call Butterfield Trail Elementary School at 479-444-3081.

The National Archery in the Schools Program promotes international-style target archery as part of the in-school curriculum to improve educational performance and participation in the shooting sports among students in grades 4-12.
