Students at Vandergriff Elementary School are collecting used book donations for the annual Charlie Brown Book Sale.
Named in honor of a chocolate lab adopted from the Fayetteville Animal Shelter many years ago by Vandergriff third-grade teacher Sherri Wheeler, the event is the largest annual fundraiser for the shelter. The sale raised $6,250 last year, according to Justine Middleton, animal services superintendent
Gently used children’s and adult books may be dropped off during regular office hours between now and May 17 at the front office of Vandergriff Elementary, located at 2975 E. Township St., or at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter at 1640 S. Armstrong Ave..
The sale will be held May 21 and 22 at Vandergriff Elementary from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Hardbacks are sold for $1, and paperback are 50 cents.
