Pennsylvania artist Matisyahu is coming to Fayetteville this week.

The reggae rapper best known for his 2005 Top 40 hit “King Without a Crown,” has been added to the bill of the Head and the Heart show set for May 1 at Washington County Fairgrounds Barnhill Arena. The UA announced the move on Tuesday.

Matisyahu burst onto the scene in the mid 2000s with his unique raps combining Orthodox Jewish themes with reggae, rock and hip hop. Since then, he has released four studio albums and two live albums. His fifth album, Akeda, is due out June 3.

The show at Barnhill Arena Thursday is sponsored by the University of Arkansas’ Headliners Committee, a student-run group charged with bringing a large concert to town each year.

Tickets were offered to students first, but general public ticket are now also on sale for $29.22 at waltonartscenter.org.
