With a 50 percent chance of rain in the forecast through Sunday, it may be a struggle to find enough dry gaps to enjoy the outdoors this weekend.

If you’re a country music fan who’s feeling lucky, Friday is the night to roll the dice. American country pop duo Florida Georgia Line will perform a “rain or shine” concert at 7 p.m. in Arvest Ballpark. Tickets are about $40 at ticketfly.com.

For everyone else, there’s plenty of indoor music through the weekend, including several bands at George’s Majestic Lounge Friday night. The Bel Airs and Steve Pryor start the evening with happy hour shows. After that, it’s the annual Rock and Roll Masquerade Ball with performances by Randall Shreve & The Sideshow, Me Like Bees, Six Hung Sprung, Family History, Merrily Spins and Shayla Patton. As always, attendees are encouraged to dress up.

Amasa Hines

Anthony Prado Photography

If the forecast is correct, the rain should hold off until Saturday afternoon, meaning the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market is still an option this weekend. Just head to the Downtown Square where you’ll find fresh fruits, vegetables, crafts, musicians, and a ton of folks you know.

The Road to Essence Tour makes a stop in Bentonville Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m. inside Bentonville High School‘s Tiger Stadium. Performers include Grammy Award-winning R&B singer-songwriter Chrissette Michelle, Chante Moore, Bell Biv DeVoe, and MC Lyte.

Highly acclaimed Little Rock band Amasa Hines will play their first show in Fayetteville this weekend at JR’s Lightbulb Club. Despite being voted as the best band in the state by readers of the Arkansas Times and making the 2012 list of Paste Magazine‘s “12 Arkansas Bands You Should Listen To Now,” the group has yet to make a public performance here in northwest Arkansas. You can read more about Amasa Hines in our profile from earlier this week. Local band The Good Fear (Full disclosure: Dustin and I are in this band) will open the show at around 9 p.m.

Sunday events, June 1

Protomartyr

Angel Ceballos

It will be a busy afternoon on Sunday if the weather holds out long enough.

You can get an up-close look at all of the storm drain murals recently painted in downtown Fayetteville during an event set for 3 p.m. Sunday at the Fayetteville Underground gallery on the square. Officials with UpStream Art will lead participants on a walking tour of the outdoor exhibit that includes 10 stops with interactive booths set up along the route. Here’s a bit more on that.

Keep your walking shoes on, because the art tour concludes at the Fayetteville Public Library, just in time for the Artosphere Trail Mix concerts which start at 5 p.m. just west of the library near the Frisco Trailhead.

Later that night, Detroit rock quartet Protomartyr is at The Lightbulb Club. The band has earned high praise from the New York Times, NPR, Paste Magazine, and Rolling Stone for its recent album Under Color of Official Right. We published a brief interview with the band earlier today with some music and videos embedded. Local band Llinda opens the 9 p.m. show. Cover charge is $5.
