Friday events, June 6

White Shockolate

Courtesy

We mentioned earlier that Friday’s lineup at Wakarusa is looking pretty awesome. But if you’re not on the Mulberry Mountain, there’s still plenty of music to check out in Fayetteville.

The Artosphere Festival Orchestra will perform their final concert of the season Friday night at Walton Arts Center. Here’s more info on that.

Well loved locals Farmer and the Markets, who typically set up during the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market, will be playing at Mojo’s Pints & Pies Friday night at around 8 p.m.

There’s a rock show at The Lightbulb Club with Witchsister, Theta Thereom, and Animal Noise.

Texas songwriter Jacob Furr is at Smoke & Barrel Friday night. We checked out some of his songs on Bandcamp, and liked what we heard.

If you feel like dancing, The Stolen Glass is probably the place to be, for local party band, White Shockolate.

Saturday events, June 7

Bombay Harambee

Saturday’s mornings in Fayetteville during the summer time are for the Farmers’ Market on the Square. Cross your fingers that the rain holds off.

There’s also a family event at Gulley Park called The Teddy Bear Picnic. The event features live kid music by Fun-Time Ramblers, a teddy bear for every child, and a catered lunch. Tickets are $10, and proceeds benefit local non-profit, Family Network, Inc. Here’s more info about the event.

Tunes wise, local songwriter Dana Louise is back in town after performing with Trout Fishing in America at Kerrville Folk Festival. She’ll be at Wasabi Friday night.

Some of the godfathers of Fayetteville’s metal scene will celebrate 20 years together with a show at George’s with Charnal, Apnea, Macrocosm, and Auric.

Excellent Little Rock band Bombay Harambee are back in town for a show at The Lightbulb Club with locals Comfortable Brother and The Chads.

Also Saturday night, the new Arkansas Music Pavilion will open for the first time with a show by country star Blake Shelton. The show sold out in a matter of minutes ages ago, so, hope you already have tickets if you were planning to see the show.
