Old Hootie is in town. Darius Rucker, country star and former singer of Hootie and the Blowfish will perform at the new Arkansas Music Pavilion with troubadour Pat Green, and up-and-coming Nashville band, A Thousand Horses.

Speaking of Nashville, one of music city’s most prolific songwriters is in town for a show at George’s Friday night. Jim Lauderdale, who has written songs for some of the biggest stars in country and bluegrass over his long career, will headline the Fayetteville Roots Festival-presents show. Tickets are $22 at George’s ticketing site.

There’s a big reggae show at Smoke & Barrel Tavern with Rochelle Bradshaw & Hypnotion. Admission is $3.

The Fayetteville Farmers’ Market will be in full bloom on Saturday morning on the Fayetteville square.

NWA Roller Derby has a bout at Starlight Skatium Saturday night. It’s the NWA All-Stars versus the Twin City Travelers from Illinois.

In case you haven’t heard, the Ron White shows originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday night at the Walton Arts Center have been moved to the Arkansas Music Pavilion. Here’s more info about that.

Tunes wise, locals Space Camp are back in action at George’s Majestic Lounge, acclaimed Memphis songwriter John Paul Keith is at Smoke & Barrel, and excellent locals SW/MM/NG and Lawrence band Oils are at The Lightbulb Club.

There’s a new songwriter series debuting at 324 Ballroom behind Jose’s on Sunday with local songstress, Keyla Reed.

Maxine’s Whosie Whatsit gameshow night returns to their Sunday service this week. The fun starts at 7 p.m., and there’s no cover.

Also Sunday night, the talented rockers from School of Rock Rogers will perform a set at Jose’s Streetside. If you’ve never seen them perform, you should check them out.
