The Walton Arts Center will be closed for several weeks while crews work to repair the center’s roofing system.

Fayetteville Roots Festival organizers this week responded to the news that the Walton Arts Center is closed. Officials said they have a “Plan B” in place for the event, if necessary.

Country superstar Tim McGraw last week tweeted that he was booked to play at the AMP on Aug. 7. Officials confirmed the news yesterday, and announced ticket prices and opening acts.

Former Arkansas baseball player Dominic Ficociello had his 17-game hit streak snapped Tuesday night in the West Michigan Whitecaps’ 5-4 loss to the Lansing Lugnuts.

The Razorback men’s basketball team will play at SMU on Tuesday, Nov. 25 in the second game of a home-and-home series that began last year at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville.
