Local legend Earl Cate is back at his home base at George’s Majestic Lounge Friday night for happy hour with his band, Earl & Them. Later on at George’s, there’s a bluegrass show with Mountain Sprout and Foley’s Van.

Remember The Airplanes from our interview last week? They’ll be at The Lightbulb Club on Friday night with epic, emotional 8-piece pop band from Los Angeles, Jail Weddings. Do yourself a favor and isten to a couple songs here before you decide what to do Friday night.

Excellent locals Dumptruck Boyz and Basement Brew are playing together Friday night as well at Smoke & Barrel Tavern. Whiskey will be consumed.

Local country rocker Barrett Baber will play a free show on the patio at Kingfish Saturday night, as long as the weather holds up.

There’s a sold out show at The AMP with country mega-star Dierks Bentley and locals Backroad Anthem.

Also Saturday night, experimental folk band SX REX (listen) is at Smoke & Barrel, and Shreveport, LA band Ghostfoot is at The Lightbulb Club (here they are on Bandcamp).

The Crude Mechanicals

Wanna watch some Shakespeare in the park? New theatre company The Crude Mechanicals will perform the Shakespeare classic Romeo and Juliet Sunday night at Gulley Park. It starts at 7 p.m., and it’s totally free.

Maxine’s Tap Room’s popular variety show, All You Need to Know Show, returns to Sunday service this week. This one’s about crime.
