AD: Nerdies is growing and bringing awesome this fall

Local start-up educational company Nerdies of Fayetteville continues to grow and recently launched an incredible line-up of education opportunities for kids this fall.

“When we opened back in June, our goal was to have 100 registrations for the summer sessions, said Founder and Head Nerd in Charge Brad Harvey. “If we could hit that mark we felt like we were more successful than we could have ever hoped for. Well we just finished our summer sessions and had over 300 registrations total. It has been a wild ride for sure.”

Brad and his staff of mentors are now switching gears and preparing for their Fall Sessions. Along with the popular sessions they held over the summer like Mods for Minecraft, Drones and Video Game Development they have added several new sessions as well. These include: Minecraft World Building, Web Development and Web Security sessions.

“We were absolutely blown away at the level of talent all of the kids had over the summer,” said lead mentor Justin Kutscherousky. “We probably have 20-30 kids who could go make $50,000 a year right now as a Java programmer. They are that knowledgeable and advanced.”

Along with the summer sessions and preparing for the fall, Nerdies also found the time to form a new company called Arties, focusing on the creative and arts side of life. “We felt like we needed to separate our brand and specifically address all those creative and amazing kids out there who might not identify with the Nerdies brand. They are a different type of kid and we want to make sure that we celebrate their individuality by providing incredible learning opportunities specifically geared to them,” Harvey said.

Arties has some great sessions planned this fall like Rockstar with local NWA Hall Of Fame musician Benjamin Del Shreve and several Comic Book sessions with professional comic book creator Gustav Carlson.

If that wasn’t enough, Nerdies also built an incredible gaming studio over the summer for birthday parties and corporate events. With three 65” HDTVs, X-Rocker Pro Series Gaming Chairs and Xbox One and 360 consoles make this a great option for families that are tired of the same old places to have parties.

More information on the studio can be found at the Nerdies website.

With all of the growth and success it is not hard to see that Nerdies and Arties are making a difference for the youth of Northwest Arkansas and why they are so popular. Nerdies and Arties have already sold out over a third of their fall sessions and get more registrations every day. A great company doing amazing things for our youth and it can only be found in Northwest Arkansas. #NerdOn #ArtOn
