AD: Fayetteville-based Native Nectar launches Kickstarter for healthy restaurant

Arkansas’ premier cold-press juicery, Native Nectar Juice Company, is expanding to Bentonville this fall, and they’ve launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the project.

Arkansas native and co-owner, Wilson Wood, announced the move, explaining the company is in final negotiations for space just north of the intersection of Walton Road and J Street. The location will share space with the FreeRide Studio Fitness Center, currently under construction.

The Bentonville location, to be both a juicery and healthy foods eatery, will offer an expanded menu.

“In addition to the premium cold-pressed juices, nut mylks and Natur-Ade line of detox waters we’ve become known for, we will offer a variety of other healthy foods,” Wood said.

Those offerings – to be made with all organic ingredients like the company’s existing products – will include salads, smoothies, raw energy bars and soups, among other items.

Many of the offerings will be available on a pre-made, grab-and-go basis.

“What we have learned from our customers is that time and convenience are two of the biggest barriers to healthy eating,” Wood said. “Our goal is to offer a fast and convenient, fresh and healthy food alternative. Just because it is fast doesn’t mean it has to be unhealthy.”

Wood, who sold his car, invested everything he owned and borrowed money from family to start Native Nectar says the company is looking to fund its expansion using crowd-funding via Kickstarter.

“Honestly, this is an aggressive expansion plan and timetable given that Native Nectar first opened its doors less than a year ago,” Wood said. “I’d love to say Native Nectar is killing it and can cover the expansion, but the truth is we are really still a startup. Nevertheless, we want to build on the momentum we’ve generated in Fayetteville and bring a fast, convenient healthy food alternative to Bentonville. We think crowd-funding represents our best option to get there on this timetable.”

The company hopes to open its Bentonville location on October 1, the one-year anniversary of its Fayetteville opening.
