A longtime Fayetteville restaurant owner said he would sell pizzas for pennies if Arkansas upsets Auburn in the Razorbacks season-opening game on Saturday.

Eureka Pizza owner Rolf Wilkin announced Tuesday he’ll offer large pizzas for one penny for every point that Arkansas scores “when” the Hogs beat the Tigers. In other words, if Arkansas scores 14 points and wins the game, pizzas will cost 14 cents.

Wilkin said the offer is good for one large pepperoni, sausage or cheese pizza to the first 1,000 customers at the Leverett Avenue location near the University of Arkansas campus on Monday, Sept. 1.

“We are so pumped for the beginning of football and we’re so confident of a win that will be a big part of restoring Razorback football to national prominence,” said Wilkin. “We wanted to make a statement in support of the team and the best fans in the world. We’re asking that coach Bielema runs up the score big time to help limit our financial losses.”

Auburn, who won the Southeastern Conference championship and made it to the national title game last season, enters the year ranked No. 6 in the nation. Oddsmakers in Las Vegas have listed the Tigers as a three-touchdown favorite over the Hogs, predicting an Auburn win of 20 to 22 points.
