Officers arrived at the business, located at 17 N. Block Ave. #12. at around 2 p.m., and seized the property.

According to a notice posted on the front door of the business, it was a court ordered seizure.

Sound Warehouse originally opened as a record shop in 1984, and has had several locations in Fayetteville over the years. In addition to records and CDs, the store also carries musical instruments, guitar strings, jewelry, locally blown glass products, and other merchandise.

We have a message in to the owner of the business, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office seeking more information.

UPDATE 1: Store owner Keith Hollingshead told us he hopes to recover his merchandise, and re-open in a new location. He did not comment on the reason for the closure today.

UPDATE 2: We obtained the Writ of Possession ordering the seizure and removal of Sound Warehouse from the property. It appears to be a civil case, and not a tax-related closure as has been reported elsewhere.
