The City Clerk’s Office opened on Saturday to count signatures for a petition seeking a public referendum.

Petitioners turned in stacks of signatures Saturday in hopes of triggering a public vote to overturn the anti-disrcrimination law passed by the Fayetteville City Council last month.

As residents prepare for Bikes, Blues & BBQ this week, police say they’re fully prepared to handle the traffic and whatever trouble might occur.

This week’s public meetings include Planning Commission, Fayetteville School Board, a City Council candidate forum and more.
