Future home of a new record shop called Block Street Records, a project from the owners of neighboring music venue, JR’s Lightbulb Club.

A portion of Sycamore Street between College and Walnut avenues will close for about four hours Tuesday while crews work to install a concrete bridge.

Planning commissioners last week approved a permit for a new farmers’ market near the corner of Garland Avenue and Sycamore Street in Fayetteville.

The Fayetteville Animal Shelter will offer free cats with the donation of a cat toy through Saturday, Oct. 4.

A local, all-female musical supergroup made its debut at Bikes, Blues & BBQ.

From the UA

A total of 1,525 international students from 112 countries are enrolled at the UA this semester. That’s a 10 percent increase from last fall, and an all-time high for the university.

World Trade Center Arkansas, an affiliate of the UA that serves as the state’s global business resource, received an economic development grant worth almost $600,000.
