Get out your Freddy Krueger mask, your knife gloves, and your black and red stripe-y shirt, everyone. Halloween is almost here.

In honor of America’s favorite reason for grown-ups to dress up in costumes and get weird, several Dickson Street businesses are planning a pub crawl on Friday, Oct. 31.

The event, called Nightmare on Dickson Street, will begin at Jose’s Streetside at 8 p.m., where pub crawlers can pick up a list of participating watering holes. Organizers say about 20 bars are on board this year.

During and after the crawl, Jose’s will host Scary-oke and a costume contest featuring prizes for the scariest, sexiest, and best couples costumes.

Those who finish the crawl can return their completed punch card to the restaurant for a free t-shirt.

There’s a $10 donation to participate, and all the proceeds benefit the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
