Fayetteville Public Library patrons once again have an opportunity to erase or reduce late fees.

Library officials will discount overdue fees by $1 for every can or package of nonperishable food collected this week.

The “Food for Fees” food drive runs from Monday, Nov. 10 through Sunday, Nov. 16, and benefits Cooperative Emergency Outreach and Feed Fayetteville.

Items especially needed include peanut butter, beans, canned tuna fish, canned chicken, canned soup, canned fruit, and cereal. Items that are opened, expired or in glass containers will not be accepted.

The offer does not cover replacement fees for lost or damaged materials, or fees for losses that are in billing or collection stages.
