Toward the end of 2014, country artist Sturgill Simpson was on just about everyone’s list for album of the year. This spring, he’ll be on stage in Fayetteville.

The critically-acclaimed songwriter will perform at George’s Majestic Lounge on Monday, March 30, according to his website.

Simpson burst onto the country scene in 2013 with his debut album High Top Mountain, featuring his throwback classic country sound. His 2014 album, Metamodern Sounds in Country Music was widely hailed by critics, and was recently nominated for a 2015 Grammy award for Best Americana Album of the year.

After self-releasing his first two albums, Simpson this week announced he has signed a new record deal with Atlantic Records.

Tickets are $17, and go on sale Friday, Jan. 23 at the George’s ticketing site. We expect they’ll go fast.
