The lineup for the sixth annual Fayetteville Roots Festival wasn’t supposed to be released until Sunday, Feb. 1, but apparently organizers of the event couldn’t contain their excitement any longer.

The festival has been releasing artists one at a time over the past few days via their Facebook page, and some pretty impressive names have already been announced.

Acclaimed bluegrass band The Punch Brothers, old-timey roots musician Pokey LaFarge, folk band Shook Twins, supergroup I’m With Her, festival favorites The Steel Wheels, and songwriters Martha Scanlan and John Moreland will all be coming to the 2015 festival, according to this week’s announcements.

Both the Punch Brothers (Chris Thile) and I’m With Her (Sara Watkins) contain members of another extremely popular band, Nickel Creek, so we’re excited about the possibilities of those two finding their way onto a stage together at the festival (the band just released a new album in 2014).

We’re not sure where these artists’ names will appear on the poster once it’s released (in other words, we’re not sure if these are festival headliners, or if even bigger acts are set to come), but they seem to be pretty top-of-the-list performers to us.

We’ll have to wait and see what else the organizers have in store for this year’s event.

Early bird tickets are on sale now, and begin at $49 for a one-day pass up to $199 for a four-day VIP pass.

The Fayetteville Roots Festival is set for August 27-30, 2015 at various locations around Fayetteville.
