10 running events coming up in Northwest Arkansas

There are several chances to get out, compete and get active coming up in Northwest Arkansas over the next few months, and we’ve compiled a list of all the upcoming races in the area we could find from now through the end of April.

Valentine’s 4k/8k

Date: February 14
Time: 7:30 a.m.
Distance: 4k/8k
Location: Downtown Square, Bentonville, AR
Cost: $25 per individual / $40 per couple
More info: Run Bentonville is putting together a run to allow competitors to test themselves at unique distances of 4k and 8k through downtown Bentonville. It’s a Valentine’s Day run, so couples that register together get a discount, and ladies get a rose when they cross the finish line. Click here to register.


Beer & Bagel Off Road

Date: March 7
Time: 10 a.m.
Distance: 4 miles
Location: Saddlebock Brewery, Springdale, AR
Cost: $40-45
More info: Nebraska-based race the Beer & Bagel is expanding to Arkansas with a March 7 run beginning at Saddlebock Brewery in Springdale. It’s an off road race, and there will be bagels, beer (obviously), and homemade chili. Click here to register.


Kiss Me, I’m Irish 5k/10k

Date: March 7
Time: 7 a.m.
Distance: 5k/10k
Location: Bentonville Community Center Bentonville, AR
Cost: $25 for either race

Cow Paddy 5K/1K

Date: March 13
Time: 5:45 p.m.
Distance: 5K/1K
Location: Gulley Park, Fayetteville, AR
Cost: $20-25
More info: The Cow Paddy run is an annual 5k and 1k fun run benefitting the Fayetteville Public Education Foundation. Runners are encouraged to dress up, and there are prizes for the best cow costume, and craziest costume. Click here to register.


Lake Atalanta Duathlon

Date: March 15
Time: 2 p.m.
Distance: 3-mile run, 6-mile bike ride
Location: Lake Atalanta, Rogers, AR
Cost: $50
More info: A duathlon featuring a 3-mile run through the woods around Lake Atalanta in Rogers, followed by a 6-mile mountain bike trail ride. Click here to register.


Bentonville Half Marathon

Date: March 28
Time: 7 a.m.
Distance: Half marathon (13 miles), Half marathon relay, 5k
Location: Downtown Bentonville, AR
Cost: Half marathon is $60, half marathon relay is $40/person, 5k is $30.

Hogeye Marathon

Date: March 29
Time: 7:30 a.m.
Distance: Marathon (26.2 miles), half marathon, 5k, and 1 mile fun run
Cost: Marathon is $85, half marathon is $65, 5k is $30, and the fun run is $20
Location: Downtown square, Fayetteville, AR
More info: A 39-year-old event, the Hogeye Marathon begins on the Fayetteville square and runs through several historic areas of the city before finishing up on Dickson Street. There’s also a half marathon, 5k, and 1 mile fun run. Proceeds from the event benefit several local charities. Click here to register.


Iron Pig Festival

Date: April 4
Time: 9 a.m.
Distance: A duathlon, 5K Run, 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, and Bike Time Trial.
Cost: $55-90
Location Drake Field, Fayetteville, AR
More info: A duathlon, featuring a 3-mile run and an 18-mile “out and back” on US Highway 71. The event also features a 5k, fun run, and bike time trial. Click here to register.


SpringFest 5K

Date: April 18
Time: 8 a.m.
Distance: 5k
Cost: $25 ($20 for students), includes admission to pancake breakfast.
Location: Dickson Street, Fayetteville, AR
