Longtime Fayetteville photographer Andrew Kilgore will exhibit several of his portraits in a new show this week.

The show, titled Let There Be Light — 100 Black Men, is set for 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22 at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, and will feature 22 of Kilgore’s photographs in honor of Black History Month in Fayetteville.

Kilgore said the collection features portraits of local black men he has taken over the years, including several that he has shot in the last 12 months.

The show is part of a series of events organized by Compassion Fayetteville to highlight the contributions of black residents to the community in Fayetteville.

From Compassion Fayetteville’s Facebook page:

Andrew’s photographs demonstrate the value and impact of advocacy photography, we believe his work of African-American community members can help us bring a new level of understanding and connection to our society

The show is free to attend, and open to the public.
