Fayetteville, Springdale, and Rogers each started the fiscal year with positive sales tax numbers, while Bentonville recorded a loss.
Fayetteville received $1,872,412 for a 9.28 percent increase over last year, a difference of $158,930.
Rogers collected $1,611,772, a $202,660 increase over last year when the city received $1,409,112.
Springdale received $1,031,099 for a 17.3 percent increase over last year, a difference of $879,036.
Bentonville collected $841,178, a $52,083 decrease over last year when the city received $893,261.
Each city collects a 2 percent sales tax. One percent goes into a general fund. The other 1 percent goes toward repayment of bonds. The numbers reported by the Fayetteville Flyer represent the 1 percent going into general funds.
Sales tax revenue delivered in February reflects December sales tax collected in January.
