UPDATE: Sideways to host Founders tap takeover Thursday

Fans of Founders Brewing might want to brave the winter weather Thursday night.

Sideways will host a Founders tap takeover event beginning at 8 p.m. (March 5) at the bar, located at 311 W. Dickson St. behind Farrell’s Lounge in Fayetteville.

The lineup is set to feature at least 10 different Founders beers, including two of the brewery’s most sought after offerings.

According to Sideways representatives, Founders plans to pour both Kentucky Breakfast Stout, the popular barrel-aged coffee and chocolate stout, and Canadian Breakfast Stout, a limited release imperial stout brewed with coffee and chocolate before being aged in used bourbon barrels that have also been used to age maple syrup. The two beers are currently ranked No. 11 and No. 12 on the RateBeer Top 50.

Update: We were informed on Thursday that KBS has been pulled from the lineup. Bummer.

Other notable brews include Blushing Monk, a Belgian raspberry ale first brewed as part of Founders’ Backstage Series of experimental beers, and Mosaic Promise, a SMaSH (single malt and single hop) beer brewed with Scottish-grown Golden Promise malt and the increasingly popular Mosaic hop varietal.

The full tap list, according to Sideways, includes Canadian Breakfast Stout, Kentucky Breakfast Stout, Breakfast Stout, Imperial Stout, Backwoods Bastard, Dirty Bastard, Mosaic Promise, Blushing Monk, Centennial IPA, and Nitro Pale Ale.
