Lululemon coming to downtown Fayetteville

Athletic apparel maker Lululemon plans to open a showroom location in Fayetteville this spring.

The company, which focuses on high-end yoga pants and sportswear, will set up shop at the corner of Church Avenue and Center Street, just off the downtown square.

“We’re really excited to be coming to the Fayetteville community,” said Lululemon spokesperson Heather Mckeon. “We look for locations where fitness and wellness are on the rise, and we know that Fayetteville is a place that has those values.”

The showroom concept is smaller than a regular Lululemon store, with shorter business hours and a sampling of the company’s best-selling products.

“Our showroom stores are a great way for us to introduce ourselves to the community,” Mckeon said. “We’ll have a variety of our core products so folks can start establishing their fitness wardrobe. We have great pieces for yoga, interval training, running accessories, and more for both men and women.”

The Fayetteville store will occupy a 1,200-square-foot space at 200 W. Center St., a building currently being remodeled through a partnership between Specialized Real Estate Group and Modus Studio. The store will have a dedicated entrance on Church Street.

Other tenants in the building will include an Arsaga’s coffee/toast shop, and MyPhones Unlimited, a cell phone accessory and repair shop.

Lululemon was founded near Vancouver, British Columbia in the late 1990s. It has grown to become a publicly traded company with more than 250 stores worldwide.

Mckeon said she expects the Fayetteville Lululemon showroom to open sometime this spring.
