Buffalo Hustle, a self-described rock n’ roll, psychedelic blues and funk band from Fayetteville, is one of only 64 bands from around the country selected by Sonicbids to compete for a spot in the festival line up.

The band is pitted against Nashville-based Kid Freud in the first round of the March Madness-style competition.

Guitarist Nick Brothers said the band was just notified of their inclusion in the round of 64 late Wednesday night, and made the tournament out of hundreds of bands that submitted for the competition.

“We’re still a little beside ourselves at the opportunity,” he said. “We’ve dreamed about playing Bonnaroo, and even though it’s a long shot, it could become a reality through this.”

Bonnaroo is set for June 11-14 near Manchester, TN. The festival always boasts an impressive lineup, and this year is no different with the likes of Billy Joel, Robert Plant & the Sensational Space Shifters, My Morning Jacket, Kendrick Lamar, Alabama Shakes, Mumford and Sons, and tons more among the headliners.

To vote for the local guys, visit the Bonnaroo Battle of the Brackets app on the Sonicbids page, click Birds Eye View, then Group 4, and scroll down until you see Buffalo Hustle.

Voters can cast one vote per round, and the first round ends on Saturday.

Good luck, local dudes.
