Five musicians that have played in a lot of good Fayetteville bands over the years will come together to play a tribute to The Strokes on Friday night at Ryleigh’s. The band, made up of members of Apartment 5, A Good Fight, Swimming, Groovement, and others, will play The Strokes 2001 album Is This It in it’s entirety. The show starts at 10 p.m., and new local band George and the Jetsons will open the show. Admission’s $3.

Stillwater, OK indie-pop band Deerpeople is at The Lightbulb Club with local band Junk Machine, Smoke & Barrel has Kansas City bluegrass band Twenty Thousand Strongmen and DJ Shortfuze, and George’s has a reggae show with Irie Lions.

Saturday events, March 28

This is the last Saturday for a long time with no Farmers’ Market on the square. (It starts next week!)

There’s plenty of good music in town, though. Fayetteville favorite Andy Frasco is back in town for a show at George’s with local band Galaxy Tour Guides. Frasco is also the subject of a new documentary that was released recently.

Music returs to the patio at Kingfish this weekend with a good show by local band Dana Louise and the Glorious Birds.

Backspace has a three band bill with Kansas City band Kool 100s, local punk rock by Rat Brats, and new(ish) band The Waltons.

Smoke & Barrel has local band Mudhawk (formerly Strange Deranger), JR’s has a local show with High Magic and new band Lo-Res (featuring Kevin Blagg of Tyko, Future Day, and Brighter Later and Jason Wright of 100 Years War, Heads are Heavy, and million other bands), and Ryleigh’s has an indie show as well with Patterns and Waves and Silent Waits the Archer.
