It looks like Fayetteville is finally going to get its Indian restaurant.
The folks behind local eateries Greenhouse Grille and Wood Stone Craft Pizza are working to open a new Indian-style restaurant called Cardamom & Curry in the space formerly home to Hawaiian Brian’s at 1466 N. College Ave.
Co-owner Jerrmy Gawthrop emphasized that the food will be “Indian-style,” with a fresh take on the dishes you’d find at a traditional Indian food restaurant.
“There are so many different types of Indian cooking, and they do things a little bit differently by region,” he said. “We are going to take kind of a best-of Indian food approach, and we’ll definitely be putting our own spin on things.”
Gawthrop said the new restaurant won’t offer a buffet, but will instead offer a casual fine-dining atmosphere similar to the feel at Greenhouse Grille.
Also like his other restaurants, the menu will focus on food made with locally-sourced ingredients, and will offer up plenty of local and regional beer.
If everything goes well, the new restaurant will be open sometime in June.
