Organizers of the 2015 Block Street Block Party are looking for a little help to make this year’s event a success.

Volunteers are needed to assist with various aspects of the event, set for 11 a.m. until dark on Sunday, May 17 along Block Avenue in Fayetteville.

For those who aren’t familiar, the Block Street Block Party began four years ago as a way to celebrate the completion of a construction project on the street. The festival was an instant hit with locals, each year featuring dozens of bands and DJs, pony rides, a waiter’s race, chalk drawing competitions, lots of local arts and crafts, and about a zillion other things.

Help with setup, cleanup, bartending, and booth staffing are a few examples of ways folks can lend a hand this year. A full list of volunteer opportunities is available at signupgenius.com.

Also this week is the deadline for vendor and sponsor applications. Registration closes on Thursday, April 17.
