2015 Gulley Park Concert Series Kicks Off May 28

Who’s ready for some free outdoor live music in a picturesque park setting, with families on blankets enjoying picnic dinners, while children dance and people smile all over the place?

If you said “me!” or “I am!,” you’ll be excited to know that the Gulley Park Summer Concert Season will begin its 19th season in a few weeks, and will inevitably include all of the above warm and fuzzy things.

The series will kick off with locals the JM Band on May 28. According to their website, the 15-piece band plays “swing, pop, ballads, show tunes,” and other music arranged for big band performances.

Future shows include Chicago singer/songwriter Anthony D’Amato on June 11, local band The Sisters Sweet on June 25, songwriter Barrett Baber on July 9, local funk band Groovement on July 23, and 80s tribute band Fast Times on Aug. 6.

A few of the concerts this year will have additional actives happening in association with the music as well. The JM Band concert on May 28 will coincide with a “Bark in the Park” event encouraging folks to bring their pups for the show. On Aug. 6, there will be an 80s costume contest to go along with the Fast Times show.

Each concert begins at 7 p.m. at Gulley Park in east Fayetteville. As always, all shows are free and open to the public.
