‘Game it Forward’ event to benefit local students, teachers

With back-to-school season just around the corner, a local group is raising funds to help offset the cost of school supplies for kids in need with a game night fundraiser.

The event, called Game It Forward, is set for 3-11 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15 at the GP Event Center (1355 E Henri De Tonti Blvd.) in Springdale, and will feature an evening of board game playing for a cause.

Attendees can expect game demos and tournaments for several table-top board games new and old, including Magic: The Gathering, Dice Masters, Star Wars X-Wing, King of Tokyo, and others. A silent auction, door prizes, and free food and drink will also be part of the event.

Proceeds will benefit Project Teacher, a nonprofit organization focused on providing tools for teachers and school supplies for students in need.

Tickets are on sale now, and are $20 for adults, $15 for kids 11-15, and free for kids 10 and under.
