Showers and thunderstorms expected Wednesday in Northwest Arkansas

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop Wednesday across Northwest Arkansas, according to the National Weather Service.

Storms could be severe with quarter size hail and winds gusts of up to 70 mph.

Heavy rainfall and flash flooding is likely in the late morning hours, with additional thunderstorms possibly developing in the afternoon.
