Pumpkins & Gourds galore

Westwood Gardens has over 20,000 pumpkins & gourds for the people of Northwest Arkansas. They have rolled out pumpkins and gourds to all four locations today, marking the beginning of their Fall season.
“We have tons of unique pumpkins and gourds this year,” said Stephen Black, co-owner of Westwood Gardens. “That way we can offer folks a fun and exciting Fall decorating experience that is truly unique – not just the cookie-cutter, big-box basic package.”
This year, Westwood has over 23 unique varieties of pumpkins and gourds so customers will be sure to find exactly the ones they are looking for. A new type of pumpkin debuts this year at Westwood called “Enchanted”. It is a white, flat pumpkin with a wide diameter, making it perfect for stacking.

“A new trend we have been seeing with pumpkins & gourds is stacking,” said Rebecca Black, creative director at Westwood. “They just look so quaint all stacked up, especially in a container or urn.”
Pumpkins and gourds are members of the diverse Cucurbitaceae family, which contains more than 700 species. We typically call all orange, round squash “pumpkins”, but technically, all pumpkins are squash.
Whatever you choose to call them, pumpkins and gourds are great for using as Fall décor, creating arrangements, or even carving & eating!
