Puppets in the Park set for Saturday, Oct. 10 at Wilson Park

The annual Puppets in the Park festival is set for Saturday, Oct. 10 at Wilson Park in Fayetteville.

The free family event, which features puppet shows, crafts, juggling and live music, begins at 9 a.m. with a children’s puppet making and storytelling performance workshop.

Performances begin at 10:30 a.m. and the event wraps up at around 5:30 p.m. with the annual Giant Puppet Pageant.

In the event of rain the event will be moved to Washington Elementary.

9 a.m. – Children’s Puppetry Workshop
10:30 a.m. – The Selfish Giant, Puss N’ Boots, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Pandora’s Box, and The Little Boy Who Cried Wolf performed by Student’s of the Arkansas Arts Academy Arts Integration Program. Directed by Johannes Dottir.
12 p.m. – Shaky Bugs, kids music by Jules Taylor
12:30 p.m. – Puppet Theatre by Jason Suel
1 p.m. – The Saxtones: A saxaphone quartet
1:30 p.m. – Hobo Dreams by George Meyer and the Village Theatre
2 p.m. – Old Ties OLd Time Music, by Allison Williams and Willi Goehring
3 p.m. – Tales from South of the Border by Calliope Puppets
4 p.m. – Sugar on the Floor – Old Time Songs
4:30 p.m. – Arkansas Tales, puppet show by Wolfe at the Door
5 p.m. – Galen Harp of the Institute of Jugglology
5:30 p.m. – Giant Puppet Pageant – Blundering Giant Gets His Senses by Jo Ann Kaminsky and George Meyer
