Tickets are $23, and there are some still available at George’s ticketing site.

There’s a puppet party at Wilson Park on Saturday morning. The annual Puppets in the Park event begins around 9 a.m., and runs until around 6 p.m. There will be music, puppet performances, and it ends in a giant puppet pageant. Here’s more info (including a schedule of events.)

There’s also a Hispanic Heritage festival at Mae Farm that sounds fun. This year’s event will celebrate the culture of Colombia. Here’s our full story about that.

How about some sports? Up in Springdale, you can check out the Razorback hockey team at at 7:30 p.m. as they take on Central Oklahoma at The Jones Center.

Also, the Hog Football team is taking on Alabama at 6 p.m. in Tuscaloosa. The game will be televised by ESPN.

Music wise, locals The Sisters Sweet are back in town after a pretty extensive tour for a show at Kingfish, there’s a rock show at Ryleigh’s with Bik Fliqqr and Auric, and Arkansauce, the Squarshers (a new project featuring locals songwriter John Henry), and Opal Agafia & The Sweet Nothings are at George’s.

Sunday Oct. 11

A totally re-imagined Oktoberfest is coming to Dickson Street this weekend. The festival will include four stages of live music and entertainment with a polka band, keg rolling competitions, stein races for local bar and restaurant employees, and tons of food vendors serving up their best German (or whatever) dishes. There will be a bratwurst competition sponsored by Ozark Natural Foods called “You’re the Wurst,” and a ‘Mr. Oktoberfest” pageant at Kingfish at 2 p.m.

And of course, there will be tons and tons of local beer. Lots of events are free, and access to the beer gardens range from $5-$20 depending on what package you get (and you can get a discount if you’re dressed to the nines in your best German/Bavarian garb). The event begins at noon and runs until 9 p.m. or so. Here’s our full guide to all the fun.
