Registration open for 2016 Frozen Toes 15K trail run at Kessler Mountain

Registration is now open for the inaugural Frozen Toes 15K trail run, set for Saturday, Jan. 9 at Kessler Mountain in Fayetteville.

The event is part of the Fayetteville Race Series, and hopes to attract “running folks who can brave the cold and enjoy getting their feet dirty.”

From the event website:

This 15k trail run is perfect for runners looking to transition from a 5K or 10K distance into longer trail race. These singletrack trails are technical in some areas, but the views are worth it! This cold weather run will be followed by hot soup! In addition to Overall Finisher and Age Group awards, all participants will have a chance to win other prizes.

The race begins at 9 a.m., with check-in starting at 7:45 a.m. Runners will start and finish the race at the Kessler Mountain Trailhead located off Judge Cummings Road. A course map is expected to be unveiled in mid-December.

Registration is available online or in person at the Parks and Recreation office, 1455 S. Happy Hollow Road. Cost to register is currently $25, but will increase to $35 after Dec. 1. The fee includes race timing, a supported course, custom event socks, post-race soup, and free event photo downloads. Day-of-race registration will also be available.
