Fayetteville committee to hear 2016 sidewalk improvement proposal

Transportation crews are expected to build a new sidewalk on the north side of Rock Street from College Avenue to Mill Avenue sometime in 2016.

Fayetteville officials are set to present their recommendations for 2016 sidewalk improvements during Tuesday night’s Transportation Committee meeting.

The proposal lists nine projects totaling about 2 miles of new sidewalks and repair work, and includes over 2,500 feet of construction on the east side of College Avenue between North and Maple streets.

Other large projects include over 1,000 feet of work along both sides of Rock Street from College Avenue to Mill Avenue in Ward 1, and over 1,250 feet of new sidewalk on 46th Avenue from Wedington Drive to an existing sidewalk in Ward 4.
