Those New Year’s Eve glasses that everyone wears made sense back in 2000. Even the year after that through 2009, there were two eye holes in the “00s” in the middle that made for some pretty decent party glasses, but since there’s been a “1” in the second eye-hole since 2010, we can’t believe anyone still wears them.
Still, someone’s gonna wear a giant pair of 2016 glasses this year anyway with an awkward eye hole that makes no sense. Mark our words.
Anyway, New Year’s Eve is here, and we’ve gathered up as many local celebrations as we could find to help you ring in 2016 in style.

Maxine’s Tap Room
Maxine’s Tap Room hosts an 80’s-themed dance party to ring in the New Year this year, with music by DJ’s Robe Flax and Sam Houser. There’re getting that crazy light-up dance floor they rented for Halloween, and there’s no cover.
George’s Majestic Lounge
George’s Majestic Lounge has a huge NYE show with Elephant Revival and We Dream Dawn in the garden, with semi-locals Mountain Sprout in the lounge. Hopefully you’ve already got your tickets to this one. It’s completely sold out.
Fayetteville Square
The largest party in town is happening on the Fayetteville Square with Last Night Fayetteville.
Main stage headliners will kick off at 7 p.m. at the Fayetteville Town Center. The lineup includes performances from students at the School of Rock, as well as local bands Groovement, Galaxy Tour Guides, and National Park Radio. There’s also a “hog drop” (similar to the ball-drop in Times Square) featuring a 8.5-foot-long hog sculpture at midnight, and a fireworks finale. Here’s the full schedule of events.
Crystal Bridges
Crystal Bridges is throwing a huge New Year’s Eve party with music by Crescent City Combo, The Symphony of Northwest Arkansas, Smokey & The Mirror, and Arkansauce. There will be live theatre, dancers, a video art/light show, and other surprises. Admission is $65 ($48 for members).
Greenhouse Grille
Greenhouse Grille will serve a special menu all day on New Year’s Eve. Reservations are strongly recommended.
JJ’s Grill
JJ’s Grill will ring in the new year with party band, Super 55. There’s no cover.
Big Star
Big Star is planning an Old School Dance Party with DJ’s Clunk, Robert Bell, and Miletus. Clunk will be giving away blouses by Lew Magram, Alfred Dunner & Dressbarn. Here’s the Facebook event.
Smoke & Barrel
Longtime Fayetteville band The Plaid Jackets will reunite for their first show in a long time at Smoke & Barrel on New Year’s Eve. There’s a $5 cover at the door.
Springdale Holiday Inn
A local radio station is hosting a party at the Springdale Holiday Inn. The event will include live music by Ultrasuade, a champagne toast at midnight, and the hotel will also ave sleeping room specials for those who have a little too much fun.
The Lightbulb Club
There’s a rock show to ring in the New Year at The Lightbulb Club with with Manatees, Ten High and Bik Fliqqr. There will be a photo booth by Rival Colors, and free champagne at midnight. Admission is $5.
Ryleigh’s
Ryleigh’s has live music on New Year’s Eve with locals Vintage Pistol and Coyote Union.
C4 Nightclub and Lounge
C4 Nightclub and lounge will celebrate the New Year with a dance party.
Hookah Java
Hookah Java is planning a New Year’s Eve party with unlimited hookah for $10 per person, and dancing. The cover includes the cost of a champagne or cider toast at midnight.
Cannibal & Craft
Cannibal & Craft is hosting a New Year’s Blast Off party with live musc by NO.F^CES.
Electric Cowboy
Electric Cowboy will host a New Year’s Eve party with free party favors, champagne, a balloon drop, and plenty of dancing. They’ve also worked out a shuttle and hotel packages with nearby Candlewood Suites (just in case).
Nadine Baum Studios
Theatresquared’s latest hit, Peter and the Starcatcher is winding down it’s run of shows at Nadine Baum Studios, but they’ll be performing a special New Year’s Eve performance Thursday night. There will be free cookies and cocoa.
