April Fools’ Day is gonna be awesome in Fayetteville this year.

That’s because Memphis band Lucero and Tulsa songwriter John Moreland are coming to town for a show at George’s Majestic Lounge that evening.

Lucero announced the show this week as the first appearance on their upcoming Young Outlaws tour, a two-week run through the Midwest with Moreland from April 1-16.

The tour will segue nicely into the band’s annual mini-festival, formerly known as the Lucero Family Picnic. This year, the event is called the Lucero Block Party, and is scheduled for April 23 outside Minglewood Hall in Memphis. St. Paul and the Broken Bones are on board to perform that event as well.

Moreland has continued his success on the heels of his latest album, High on Tulsa Heat. He’s been on a recent Nordic tour, filling houses through Norway and Sweden this winter. He also blew everyone away at last year’s Fayetteville Roots Festival.

Tickets to the Fayetteville show go on sale Jan. 15 for $22 at the George’s ticketing site.
