Longtime Fayetteville espresso bar and restaurant The Common Grounds will permanently close this month after 18 years in business on Dickson Street.
Owner Kari Larson said the restaurant’s last day of business is Sunday, Feb. 21.
In a statement issued Tuesday, Larson thanked former co-owner Julie Sill, along with Common Grounds’ staff and all the customers who’ve visited the restaurant since it first opened in 1997.
“It’s been an amazing experience, a wild ride and one I am so very proud of,” she said.
Larson said the property at 412 W. Dickson St. was listed for sale on Jan. 15 and was under contract within a few days. County records indicate Larson and Sill bought the building in 2004 for $1.2 million.
While Larson would not disclose the identity of the new owners, she said they have “a very successful business they will be bringing to Dickson Street.”
Larson said she’ll spend her time focusing on a new venture called Simply Meticulous Mowing.
