Stone Brewing coming to Arkansas in late March

It looks like Arkansas beer drinkers will soon have access to Stone Brewing without having to cross the state line.

Signs of the brewery’s imminent arrival were spotted last week on posters placed at select locations in central and northwest Arkansas.

Known for producing full-bodied, aggressively hopped ales, Stone is frequently mentioned among the shrinking wish list of local craft beer fans.

The California-based company, listed as the 9th largest craft brewer in the nation in The Brewers Association’s most recent rankings, is the latest in a series of national brands that have flocked to The Natural State in response to the growing palates of beer drinkers across the state.

Stone will mark the third Top 10-ranked brewery to expand distribution into Arkansas in the past nine months, including Lagunitas (No. 6) which arrived in August, and Bell’s (No. 8) which should be here in a few weeks.

Other major brands to hit state shelves in the last couple of years include Oskar Blues, Victory, Clown Shoes, Sixpoint, Founders, Summit, and Prairie Artisan Ales. And those are just the national players.

From the looks of the posters, Stone and its iconic Arrogant Bastard Ale should arrive on March 28.
