Weekend Flyer: John Fullbright, Black Apple Awards, Uniquely Crafted, and more

One of the most talented musicians I’ve ever seen in person is playing at George’s tonight. Oklahoma songwriter John Fullbright, who’s been a regular at Fayetteville Roots Festival over the years, will perform at the venue with locals, Smokey & The Mirror. He’s incredible.

The Black Apple Awards Showcase we mentioned earlier this week is set for Friday night at The Garden Room. A fashion show is planned, along with music by Luke Pruitt, Pagiins, and White Mansion, a performance by 3D/mixed media artist Cynthia Post Hunt, as well as food and drink from several of the award nominees. Events associated with the showcase are also scheduled at nearby Puritan Brew Co. and Nightbird Books. There’s also a puppy cuddling area planned.

There’s a big show at Backspace Friday night, with New Mexico band Storming The Beaches With Logos In Hand, locals Peace of the Sea, and Quartz Prawl.

TheatreSquared’s new show Rapture, Blister, Burn continues at Nadine Baum Studios. See Kevin Kinder’s review we published yesterday for more.

There’s a lot more below.

Saturday, April 9

The Fayetteville Farmers’ Market is back in effect on the Fayetteville square. It starts at 7 a.m. Get yourself some vegetables.

Later on, a new event featuring local beers, food trucks, and a “brew mile” will debut at Botanical Garden of the Ozarks. It’s called Uniquely Crafted, and proceeds benefit Down Syndrome Connection of NWA. Here’s our recent write-up with more information.

There’s tons of good music in town, including locals Cosmic American at The Lightbulb Club, a Widespread Panic tribute at George’s, Bik Fliqqr at Backspace, and Little Rock rapper Big Piph at Smoke & Barrel Tavern.

Look below for more.
