Cirque Italia

The circus is in town this weekend. Cirque Italia, self-described as an ‘Italian Water Circus’ is set up at Mae Farm near Lake Fayetteville. This is our favorite part of their description of the show: “Breathtaking Twins will fly high in the sky like beautifully colored birds of paradise. Our Laserman will be causing all kinds of explosions with his laser guns, maybe to scare away the large dinosaur that has invaded the show!” Here’s more info.

How about some theatre? TheatreSquared will perform Rapture, Blister, Burn all weekend at Nadine Baum Studios. Also, the UA theatre department will be performing Green Day’s American Idiot at the University Theatre on campus.

Music-wise, Stephen Neeper & the Wild Hearts are at Kingfish, Boom Kinetic is at George’s, and Matt Smith Group is at Smoke & Barrel.

There’s a mother-son art show at Local Color Gallery, featuring work by Margot and Alexander Moulton, and music by Joey Farr.
